Let's get you set up

Follow these steps to install your tool in Canvas. Takes about 5 minutes.

Verify your license key

Open Canvas Admin Settings
In Canvas, click Admin in the left sidebar, then go to Settings → Apps → View App Configurations.
Note: You need Canvas admin access to install account-level tools. If you're a teacher installing for your own course, go to Course Settings → Apps instead.

Add a new app
Click + App in the top right. In the dialog that appears, set the Configuration Type to By URL.

Paste the tool URL
Copy the config URL below and paste it into the Config URL field in Canvas. Canvas will load the tool configuration automatically.

Consumer Key & Shared Secret: Leave these blank — your license key is validated automatically on first launch.

Submit and wait a moment
Click Submit. Canvas may take 30–60 seconds to load the configuration. You should see the tool name appear in your app list.

Launch from Canvas navigation
The tool will appear in your Canvas left-side navigation (you may need to refresh). Click it to launch — you'll be prompted to enter your license key on first launch.
